whats on her head in the 2nd photo?

Tim
To me it looks like the typical 'thing' islamic women wear when they are outside the house. Someone correct me if I am wrong

They are Turkish traditional costumes that's all.

But there are muslims that want to wear headscarves in public nowadays in turkey. I don't understand women who wear headscarves. The women I know all do it to please their family and then they tell us it's a free choice. yeah sure...
it is such a degrading symbol for women.

there are two types of headscarves. the first one is traditional and its free for wear.

but second one is a political symbol( they are against to laic regime). and it is forbidden of course

When i was at secondary school there was a liberal muslim girl in my class. She never wore a head scarve but when she was in certain parts in turkey they shouted at her 'burn in hell' and she always said: you will be burnt already before you arrive in hell with those clothes in the heat.

I saw Ruslana in Romania at news "Antena 3 Chanel". It was some news about the political situation in Ukraine and they showed some imgaes from the parliament and they showed Ruslana saying someting in Ukrainian . They didn't said that she is a singer. They said "Ruslana Lyzhichcko from Our Ukraine block declares...."

See http://www.antena3.ro

i have the idea that the group of poeple that's against the laic regime is growing in turkey. These groups make turks who live in holland vote for them. they often have double pasports.
