well, in BG we have a word for stranger---> strannik,..........a person who, yes, he is unknown, but nothing shows that he is necessarily from another country (foreigner). stranger=you haven't seen him/her before.......unwanted...hm.....yes, may be it has a bit negative connotation-he/she may look suspicious.....

that's a real OOOPS!!

I don't like russian. If russian were a more beautiful language then Ukrainian, Ruslana would sing in russian.
So can someone start a new topic : Ukrainian for beginners or ukrainian for dummies ?
Dummies = persons that are not fan of Ruslana - so not for us :-)

As I saw you are Bulgarian? Have I got it right?
I had just a question about Bulgarian. I see you dont have any cases..but do you have cases in pronouns, cause even languages like English or French have: mine, me etc....

yes

uhhh, I really really hate grammar, may be yes. We used to have cases once, for example, my grandmother would say: he hit IvanA, but now we say only: he hit Ivan. Or she gave it Petru, but now we say: she gave it na Petur.

in pronouns: moi,moya,moe=mine
mi=to me
me/me/=me/mi/
se=for reflexive pronoun....

but these are the short forms.....of some.....like TO mE, whose full BG form will be NA MENE MI, not only MI

OmG I'm not made to be a teacher, :F

Not really

In Ukrainian:
Nominative: Ruslana
Genetive: Ruslany
Dative: Ruslani
Accusative: Ruslanu
Instrumental: Ruslanoju
Prepositional: Ruslani
Vocative: Ruslano

As I would say, Lyzhychko stays undeclined...cos with the declined Lyzhychko it makes a bit not very correct. But maybe I'm wrong, according to new rules, or so.

How interresting to have an opportunity to compare with Ukrainian language. Thanks!

1. Ruslana
2. Ruslany
3. Ruslaně
4. Ruslanu
5. Ruslano
6. Ruslaně
7. Ruslanou

So you say dear Ruslanoju? Super! We will say dear Ruslano. I don't know if your cases are in the same order but here fiveth case is for calling.

Thanks for the explaination. So everybody call our beloved sonce Ruslano?

I see some Ruslano also in Chimera's post but not in the position as in mine or Ukrainian.

Chimera

LOL they could change our grammar because there is, for example, huge nonsense in writting y and i ... small children who have to learn this in the basic school are fighting many years with this. There are so much rules and exceptions ... as in our whole language. It should be only one i - for both possibilities.

I'm impressed how your casses have its title. Ours don't have titles. Just numbers.

Lollll exactly how we may call you here. So I'll warn my relatives and myself if it will be possible you will visit us in the future!

Ohh a lot of countries changed their grammar. Lucky that we're only survivors who haven't so far. (not long time ago)
