Asia Song Festival in Korea
Ruslana gets award at Asia Song festival
Ruslana, who won the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest for Ukraine will be a guest star and receive a special award during the sixth Asia Song Contest, the largest music festival in the continent, taking place in Korea today and tomorrow.
Asia's largest music festival, the Asia Song Festival, is to take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium and World Cup Park from August 18th to 19th. The annual festival, which began in 2004 to create a cultural community in Asia through pop music, is back for its 6th season with about fourteen teams of star performers representing nine Asian countries.
The festival will take place at 6 p.m. on September 19th at Seoul's World Cup Stadium. Also included in the second line-up along with Ruslana as special guests are popular Japanese group V6 and Hong Kong actress/singer Ekin Cheng.
Fans of Asian pop music can expect Korean idol groups Girls Generation and Super Junior at the festival. Also participating are Gackt and the co-ed duo Mihimaru GT from Japan, Chris Lee of China, Show Luo of Taiwan, K-Otic from Thailand, Ho Ngoc Ha from Vietnam and Agnes Monica from Indonesia.
"This event will develop as a representative brand for the cooperation and cultural exchange of Asian countries, and become the stepping stone to heighten the competitiveness of Asian music in the global music market" said Yong-hoon David Kim, the chairman of the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange.
The foundation said that the Korean 2NE1 will be receiving this year's "Asian Newcomer's Award." Admission to the festival is free. There will be approximately 50.000 audiance in Stadium.

It is what the article tells us, that Ruslana will get a special award, but I do not know what exact award she will get. But I am suer it is special one.  As there will be invited singers from different countries to perform. And this music festival is the largest one in the continent.

Last year Ruslana performed in China, earlier she visited the Great Wall of China and United Arabian Emirates. Does anyone know about more visits?

In the competition the representatives of countires of Asia will take part. Not special guest.
