Otherwise there would be no need for a ukrainian-russion dictionnary of course.

My ukrainian boyfriend tells me that even polish is more simular to ukrainian than russian.
Russians dont understand ukrainians when they speak in their own language. Off course there are some simular words, but mostly they are different

I wish this was true!
I learned some easy ukrainian words and sentences with the help of my friend. As i said before when i got to Ukraine i noticed everybody there speaks russians and not ukrainian. Even the simple sentences like how are you, thank you, please >> have different translations in both languages.
I decided to trade my ukrainian lessonbook into a russian cause it has much more use

Which one is it ?
Als je eens bij De Sleghte in Antwerpen passeert - op de Wapper - moety je bij de woordenboeken eens gaan kijken of dat vooroorlogse woordenboek oekrains-russisch daar nog ligt. Had er wel zin in, maar heb het laten liggen (meer dan een jaar geleden) omdat het me toch niet verder zou helpen. Maar het leek me wel een verzamelstuk.

I wouldnt trade my ukrainian book for anything. I love that book, the only book I ever felt attached to. Im certainly not a bookreader at all but this book is really teared out! but I dont mind getting a russian version as well but Im affraid it would confuse me to much..

Hi to all!
I am new here. I am from Serbia and my Russian is really good.
I started to learn Ukrainian lately at the internet on Ukrainian forums,I can already comunicate a bit in it.
The language is nice. It is not that difficult for me because I already speak Russian and understnad the way it functions.
But, if you are from western countries, you will find it difficult, because all slavic languages have some grammar categories which do not exist in English or Spanish or Italian.....
Any help with Ukrainian is welcome.
My icq number is 276515672

For me it's so valuable I always have it with me. Esther knows what's in it.
She also has a photo of me with it (DSCN0345.JPG Esther), but I need her permission to publish it.
