Well, in the papers they mentioned a ukranian who is giving the bad example: the son of the president. He is 19 years old has a BMW has an appartment of 600.000 euro. I think your president should give him a good kick up his behind. Spoiled little brat. (funny detail: the paper that revealed this information was the paper that was founded by that murdered journalist.)
According to yushenko his son isn't bad and very religious. (but wasn't it jesus who said 'it is better to give then to take', he should go back to sunday school.)

Yes, it was yushenko's son indeed. It's a shame. He has a big mouth about corruption, but he is really looking for his boudaries.

Does anyone know what kind of nonsence job the yushenko's son had? PR-consultancy and that kind of nonsence. (over here the papers said he was some kind of advisor) I think he should be more harsh on his son in stead of giving him empty jobs.

Hij zegt : 't zijn allemaal dezelfde die popsterren - they are only in it for the money. Niets idealisme.

His son is very religious as well. Yuschenko has a very tough job to do...He cant be focusing on his sons actions. There is much worse people in Ukraine, and bigger things to worry about, then his son, believe me.

This is scandal roll to you too. Very well work our opposition. Another proofs that who has money in our country. BMW don?t his. And if you wonder that young man 19 year old has such car that nothing new. In my small town children of town boss has better cars. Only this is don?t want see. Yes, you right, in this situation haven?t anything fine. In such poor country as Ukraine son?s president must be more modest. Especially is now.

You don?t present such many. Especially where I live.

Yes, you right. But his son must understand who he is and don?t give occasions for talks.

It is a fallacy what your president said about religion. It is just a distraction from the question were the money comes from. Religion has nothing to do with this. I am not religious but I don't steal. Abd I'm afraid that your president has everything to do with his son's money. Daddy has arranged his allowence, who else? St. Nicholas?

Ylana
I bet that there are worse people. But the amount is not important but the thought. A couple of month ago we said no to the european constitution. The fact that similar cases have appaered in the EU played a big part in saying no. For example, a europaliamentarian gave her daugther the job for her PR. She made an insane amount of money with it. She only got the job because she was her daugther. This is wrong, they aren't aristocracy, but they are behaving as aristocrates. (but that member of parliament only came in the news because of her daughter, that means she hasn't done her PR well. )

You are right. Yuchenko must control their son. But nobody don?t notice in such moment fired this scandal. After conference of our Cabinet of Ministry and we don?t know results of this conference. All attention was on the president?s son. Why just in this moment? Andrey drive this car not one day. I don?t protect him but strange coincidence.
She only got the job because she was her daugther.
Situation is very acquaintance. We have it on each step.

You said the opposition played a part in spreading this rumour, but i don't think that is true. The source was the internet paper 'the ukranian pravda. the paper of that murdered journalist. But it is a good sign that the papers write about this. It shows you have freedom of press that doesn't serve those who are in power. And all attention in the press goes to a scandal like that. That would happen here too. i don't think the opposition is behind this. It is just stupidity. You eastern europeans think too much in plots and conspiracies. Yushenko just screwed up and he should do something about it in stead of saying how religious his son is. In France before the french revolution the aristocracy was very religious but they were robbing the poor at the same time and went to church on a sunday after a hard week of stealing.

I have seen that movie i think 5 times. Based on the novel by louis paul boons. Fantastic movie. You see how the catholic church plays a terrible role in keeping the poor very poor, untill pastor daens comes to town. You can also see the upcoming communism in the movie very well. you see a young communists that helps the poeple.

Did you read the recent article in Ukrainian pravda, where Yuschenko phoned the journalist who wrote about that ? :-). Ukrayinska Pravda is a good paper, but it doesnt tell you everything

Frankly, I don't like the attitude 'you don't know anything about it'. As a matter of fact i looked it up. Yushenko called the journalist a hitman. He wanted apologies (i thought that was childish by the journalist. a journalist should be proud of something like that. He has obviously touched a nerve, when a president respond like that.) Yushenko wrote back a letter with a vague story, head nor tale.
AND very important. After all this phoning, apologizing etc. we still don't know how his son got the money. I mean with a salary of a president you cannot afford to live like that. The public is being distracted from the main issue THE MONEY. Where the bloody hell does a 19 year get so much money from!!!!!

Please don't. I hate that kind of hair. I wonder what kind of politician she is. Is she a free-market liberal? I don't think she is a social-democrat. It is always hard to tell in what kind of political spectrum to place eastern-european politicians. It is odd to see eastern europeans embrasing the freemarket liberalism in its most extreme form while the western europeans want to tone it down a little. I'm afraid that eastern europeans think that the free market is the same as democracy or freedom of speech, but that isn't true. did you know that the EU only privatized electricity a couple of years ago and now the voters want to nationalize it again. Thank god they are coming back on that silly idea that the free market can solve it all over here.
