taina,
i'll try to download some music of her. I found a french webpage about her. she seems to live in france and she originates from a noble family. I guess you more about this social system than i because of your study. but i don't like these sultans. They are corrupt and they keep the poeple poor.

houstonfan,
I like 'etre une femme'. i was surprised that she uses a lot of magrebpop influences. We have a maroccan community over here and I like their music and you can recognize some influences of it her music.

I heard a couple of their songs, they were not so bad but it's not the kind of music I really like.

It would be kinda cool to see a US contestant in Eurovision, but I would say that is not likely to happen. Since we kind have our own contest with American Idol. Plus I think some people would be alittle upet if an American entered. Peace out to all.

How do you guys think US singers would do in Eurovision?

Actually, Katrina Leskanich who won the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest for the UK is American!

The Herreys who won for Sweden in 1984 were also born and raised in the US.

Debbie Cameron who represented Denmark in 1981, finishing 11th, is also American.

I guess US singers would be looking too synthetic on ESC. They are good, but of ESC format. As UK singers slightly out, IMHO.

Here goes my old idea - lets try Ukrainian Canadian Cnantal Kreviazuk for Ukraine next ESC! She is a Canadian and sounds more European then American, but... I like the idea!
