Hmm I can't understand Ukrainian and I can not make a conversation but I can sing!!!(the songs of Ruslana)
I mean for singing you don't need to learn a language you can just learn the words for the song.

16.07.05. Will Ruslana become a citizen of Turkey?
Ruslana is planning to become a citizen of Turkey and take part in "Eurovision" representing Turkey.
This news spread by Russian information agency "The News" caused a sensation (www.rian.ru). As informed the agency, Turkish audience in Bodrum resort were so hospitable, that Ruslana in addition to citizenship decided to change her name into Turkish one.
Official Ruslana's site redactor got in touch with the singer. As she said: "I was really asked during a live broadcast in Turkey, what would be my reaction to a proposal to become a citizen of Turkey? - My answer was - sure, it would do me the honour! I like the country and Turkish people. Besides, this proposal to a foreigner is a symbol of respect. Though, we were talking about honorary title. I am not going to change my legal citizenship. I am and I will be the citizen of Ukraine!"
Ruslana neither plans to change her name. Her name is known all over the world as well as in Turkey.
As to "Eurovision", Ruslana neither plans to participate in the contest again as a representative of Ukraine, nor as a representative of any other country. She claims, she is interested in climbing different mountains, not the same peak.
Ruslana feels like home in Turkey because she won "ESC-2004" in Istanbul. Besides, she has visited the country many times with concerts and has always been welcome like a queen! Ruslana has recently become the first foreigner who has got a special journalistic award as the most popular singer of the year in Turkey.

I agree, and also I think maybe the artical was taken out of context. And was maybe miss-quoted. Ruslana fought to hard in ORANGE REVOLUTION to say she is going to become a citizen of another country. Maybe in title only, honorary citizen. But I doubt that she would give up the country that she hold dear to her.

In our belgian newspapers it's now "komkommertijd" , a time when there is no much to write about (except about England and the quality and price of Zeeuwlandse mussels - which I like as all belgians do).
It's the same here I think.
I wrote Esther : When Ruslana becomes turkish, I become dutch.
(And start loving turkish music - at least Ruslanas).
