My message is to young Ukrainians who wish luck and wealthy to their country, and I shall post it to other forums, where I find Ukrainians.

Many years our grandfathers told our fathers, that their children will live in Communism. Now we know that it was a monstrous lie.

Now, our politicians tell us that probably in 50 years Ukraine will become a member of the European Union. It's also a lie. Our politicians just failed to fulfill their task: we are not in the EU now, and we have no real prospects. And our politicians did nothing to promote Ukraine in the world, they only worsened its image by violation of democracy, 'Kalchuga' and 'Gongaze' scandals and now - Mukacheve.

We have now the sad result: a new iron curtain is already on the west borders of Ukraine! We are separated from our friends in Poland, which had the same start position at the beginning of 90th, as we had. Moreover, European bureaucrats, pretending to speak in the name of all Europeans, tell us now that we DO NOT belong to Europe, and that we SHALL NEVER belong to Europe!

It's ridiculous. 60 year old men decide for youth, whether we shall belong to Europe or not... We did belong to Europe for centuries! Just some facts:

The Kyiv dynasty was SCANDINAVIAN, with Oleg and Olga (Helga) as the most renowned princes.
One of the FRENCH queens, Anna Yaroslavivna, was Ukrainian.
We belonged to 2 European kingdoms - Lithuanian and Polish (Rzecz Pospolita) - and to one European empire (Austrian).
The ancient homeland of all the Slavs is the territory shared by 2 today's states: Poland and Ukraine. And it's divided now.
One of the greatest European nations, Germans (Goths) lived for ages on the territory, which now is called Ukraine.
We had the most close relations to Greeks, Greeks had towns and colonies on our territory, and they had given us Christianity.
Once, a long time ago, Ukraine saved Europe from Mongolians, stopped their invasion at the cost of almost total destruction of our homeland.
And, finally, the geographical centre of Europe is also located in Ukraine.

Does Ukraine deserve to be a member of the modern Europe? Or, due to sad historical mistakes, we shall always be 'Russians', 'Ruskis', EX-SOVIET-REPUBLIC-OF?, CIS, EEP??

We must say our word to Europe: Ukraine does belong to Europe and it WILL become a member of EU not for our children, but within the next 5 years!

What we can do now: We shall promote our country on Internet forums, sites etc. We must show people, what is real Ukraine, not Chernobyl and Mukacheve! We shall send tons of e-mails to European and Ukrainian politicians demanding membership in EU for Ukraine.

Now just do, what you can do: make new sites, create new forums, send your personal e-mails to European institutions, tell European people about us, or just discuss it with your class mates, students of your faculty, your friends in Europe in Internet. Just don't wait for good men, who will make it for you!

'Ne vtrachai,
viry ne vtrachai
u rankovu myt',
schob pochaty vse znovu?'

The task is hard, but if Ruslana, having no support from our state, could win Eurovision 2004, WE MUST DO THIS!
