A few weeks ago she was only a school girl, then this extreme hype around her in Germany and all over Europe and then she even wins it! That was probably too much for this girl. And this is only the beginning...
Yes I guess it was a bit too much for her. She's just 19. But still funny how different people can react. I would be jumping for joy and scream so loud that I won't be able to sing the song again:P hahaha

Stukee
Indeed. Niamh her song was beautiful!! I loved it!!

cora
I'm happy for Germany that you won and can prepare the show for 2011. I'm a bit sad that i'll probably be in Canada and won't be able to go!! Not just for the cost of the flight ticket but because I still have to go to school then.
Are you going to volunteer for the show? Or are you going as a visitor/in the public? Or not decided yet.

Stukee
Lena will represent Germany next year!
hahaha it's said by stephan raab I think it's a joke.

Guido
I'm waiting to read that Ruslana will represent YKP next year in Germany before buying tickets. Sometimes I'm a dreamer ? :-)
Hahahahahahaha

Our country (as long as it exists) was occupied by : the romans, the spanish, the french, the germans.
We were governed by Holland and Austria.
The last decades we were invaded by Turkey and Marocco.
The last years by Polish and Romanian people.
So we should vote for Russia, Ukraine ... ?

Aaaahw poor Flemish people:P I thought it was a country for Monkeys? Just split up and join Holland:P

Wow, what are going to do there? Maybe answer in a more appropriate topic.

Are you going to volunteer for the show?

Don't know, if they offer something like that.

Or are you going as a visitor/in the public? Or not decided yet.

Probably as visitor.

What do you think? Should Ruslana participate in 2011 for Ukraine?

No, because Ruslana is the winner of Eurovision-2004, and you never know if you can win again, on that way Ruslana will stay the only winner of Ukraine, and I think for a looong time will stay.

We have a prowerb: You won't cross (enter) the same river twice. Ruslana connected herself with Eurovision enough already and she's able to ride her own career already. Or she can try different quests.

I answered in my topic of which I changed the name again. But now it's a more random name so I guess I won't have to change it anymore. Esther's Adventures/News/Ramblings

Don't know, if they offer something like that.
I think they need volunteers. When it was in Greece I remember seeing a programme in which someone said that they used the same volunteers as for the olympics.

Great, thanks!

Yes, well possible. I think I'd rather go as visitor.

Hmm it would be awesome to be at the Eurovision in your own country but I think it'll also be very special to be a volunteer. That won't happen again as quick as you can arrange to go as a visitor.

That's a good idea

Wow I'm exited for ye to be honest. How is that feeling when your country wins with or without you liking the song :P Is the country still talking about it? Is she all over the place like in television programmes more songs coming up?

First I was a bit shocked, but now I'm quite happy about it. Lena's victory has improved the reputation of the ESC in Germany.

Is the country still talking about it? Is she all over the place like in television programmes more songs coming up?

Oh, yes, she is all over the place and very successful.

That's not for sure. It could also be Hamburg.

i think it must be in the capital city .... i'm till not sure....

I'm coming in on this very late, but when Ireland won ESC 3 times in a row, one of those 3 were held in Millstreet, County Cork, so it does not have to be in the capital of the host country.

By the way, our song (Ireland) was ok, it should of done better, but it was not good enough to win!... the best songs were Ajerbizan, Armenia, Belgium and Romania... and the winner, by far, should of been Denmark!!! That song is totally deadly Germany was ok, should of been top 10, but it was a shock to me (and Lena by the look of it!) that it won!!!

Dave, from Ireland

The city where next year's ESC will take place is still under discussion. Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover and Düsseldorf are being considered.

The ESC 2011 will take place in Düsseldorf.

The Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf is a new football stadium with a closable roof with a capacity of 54,000. The other cities which applied couldn't offer a venue of that size for 6 weeks. Preparations, rehearsals etc. take 6 weeks. The main problem was that other big halls under discussion weren't available for such along time.

Düsseldorf is a city of 600,000 inhabitants on the river Rhine close to the Dutch border.

157 KM for me
Wuppertal was 192 KM - 2 hours driving (+ 1/2 hour for me getting lost) and 1 hour to find the street :-) but that was worth it.
Fan meeting ? I had nice fan meetings with 2 (3 if I include Ruslana).
