Congratulations with your little cuties! :-)

Etos

He's adorable! :-) Since you've now got a little kitten and the fact that Arnold is quite old, I'm kinda afraid to ask but how is he?
Thanks for the photo. That poster ... It's hanging at work - I'm not sure it would be safe at home. Today a client came in and he was standing beyond me and said : Those wild hears ! That always makes me happy.

hairs - sorry Esther
I phoned Taras yesterday. He's a nice person. I didn't know he met Cora and Lussekatt in Kiev. 17/09 he got a phone call: Hey Ruslana is singing here. You know where. But it was too late for him to get there on time. When you're a Ruslana fan you have to be able to read english and/or german and consult forum every morning. You remember november ? "Today Ruslana is in Brussels".
We were lucky she was 3 days there.

She is Masyanya. Not from the word yanya, but... Masyanya is a very cute character from flash cartoon. I don't like this catroon very much and it' Russian, but it sounds great! And the cat herself recognise it very quick!

This is Masyanya also. She likes to play as a real dog: through her some small thing (look at the pic) and she'll bring it back! She adores such a game :)

Thanks for asking. A friend of my childhood had a parrot. And he named her Yanya after me. He told me if the parrot called Yana die he won't stand it, so he "decorated" the name :)

To tell the truth Yana is a Polish name. My grand-grand-grandmother comes from Poland. She gave me this name. But i like it. It's prety rare, but nice. In the real life nobody calls me Yanya, but Yana. But in virtual life i am yanya and i like it.

What are the most popular names in your country?

Whoa, names. I find names really interesting! (I am soooo predictable)

Lussekatt
Yes, in Germany and Austria at least. But it is mostly common as a second name like "Rainer Maria Rilke" (poet) or "Klaus Maria Brandauer" (actor).

these names are old fashioned!
Börje

I know a swede with that name, a chemist at the university. Not that old, though, but...

Emil

... my grand uncle bears this name. He is about 80. It seems Sweden and Germany have contrary trends in naming. ;)

Linda(female)
(means to wrapp something around something or around a person)

Doesn't the name come from the tree? Lime tree, that is, old german "linta", also from that stem german "Geländer" (rail) and also similar words in baltic and slavic languages (liepa, λθοΰ). (No I don't know this, I just found it when googling for Linda and lime.

Can you write a transcrption in English?

I know some of the letters, but maybe they are pronounced differently here (like in german "eu", which is pronounced "oj"). So take my notes with a grain of salt.

Åsa
Håkan

The å is like an "o". Polish "ą" is similar. "Håkan" would be like "hawkan". (The first half the bird - I think they may even descend from the same word in old germanic)

Göte

LOL! I think this guy wrote some poetry 200 years ago. ;) (In german this name could be spelled "Goethe" - same pronunciation.)

The "ö" is a tough letter for a transscription into english ... like the "o" in "work" or the "u" in "murder". (In fact the second one really becomes "Mörder" in german). Gi(rl)-te may work. (no "rl" any more)

Börje

Bir(d)-ye (the "d" is gone, of course)

I hope I was correct so far and for now return to listening to the song "Jordrök" from the swedish band "Änglagård".
